I’m Charlie Wooddall, a 25-year-old artist from Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve always been a visual thinker, drawn to color, movement, and the feeling that creating something by hand can express what words often can’t. I earned my BFA in Advertising and Branding from the Savannah College of Art and Design, but it was through personal exploration that I began developing a more intentional, layered approach to my work.
While my subject matter shifts, I’m most drawn to abstract painting for the freedom it gives me to explore emotion, contrast, and spontaneity. My process is intuitive and ever-evolving. I often work in mixed media combining acrylic, oil stick, pastel, and charcoal to build textured, fluid pieces that feel both raw and refined. Each painting has its own rhythm, balancing softness and structure, chaos and calm.
Before graduating, I spent four years living in Charleston, South Carolina, a time that deeply shaped my creative perspective. It’s where I began building my art practice, showing my work, and finding confidence in my visual voice. I continue to experiment and reinvent my style, always chasing new ways to express movement and feeling on canvas. My work is personal, layered, and led by curiosity and I hope it invites others to pause and feel something too!
